That is why we were glad to participate in the Team Walk Tour in Aachen, an outdoor event that brought together colleagues, friends and families for a day of walking, fresh air and good company. For us, it was a natural opportunity to step away from our daily routines and invest time in something equally important: the people behind our work.

 
The event started at the iconic Tivoli Stadium in Aachen, which served as both the starting point and the finish line for the day. From there, participants set off on an 8 to 10 km walking route through the surrounding landscape, designed to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace by participants of all fitness levels. Along the route, motivation stations and a refreshment stop kept the energy up, while the friendly atmosphere made it easy to connect with one another in a way that a regular workday just sometimes allows.

Crossing the finish line back at the stadium and receiving the finisher medal was a small but satisfying reward for the effort — and a good excuse to celebrate. Events like this remind us that wellbeing and human connection are not extras — they are part of what makes a workplace genuinely worth showing up to.

Encouraging our team to stay active and maintain a healthy balance between professional and personal life is something we consider important at ACOTEQ and participating in initiatives like the Team Walk Tour is one of the ways we put that commitment into practice. This year, ACOTEQ GmbH proudly celebrates a landmark milestone: 10 years of operation. What began in 2016 as a bold vision shared by founders Gabriela Queins and Willibert Dautzenberg has grown into a globally recognized company delivering advanced automation, consulting, and high-quality technical equipment to clients across the world. Our team, which brings together over 150 combined years of expertise in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic solutions, has doubled in size in recent years — a reflection of the growing trust our clients place in us and our capacity to deliver agile, reliable service at a global scale.

Our journey has also been defined by our commitment to values that go beyond business. Since 2022, all of our facilities have been powered entirely by green energy, demonstrating that industrial excellence and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. Alongside our CE and UL compliance standards, this commitment to sustainability and quality assurance continues to set the foundation for every project we undertake and every partnership we build.

As we look ahead to the next chapter, our vision is clear: to intensify our international presence, deepen our customer network, and continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and service excellence in the wire and cable sector and beyond. The event offered a perfect contrast to the energy of the exhibition halls, providing a more relaxed and informal setting for professionals to meet, reconnect and engage. With welcome drinks, canapés, an antipasti station, live entertainment and a DJ set, the evening reflected the dynamic spirit that makes wire Düsseldorf such a landmark occasion for our sector. Guests also had the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor terrace, making the most of a spring evening in Düsseldorf.

This edition of The Great Connection carried special significance, as the evening also marked 40 years of wire Düsseldorf, a milestone that speaks to the enduring strength, energy, and global reach of the wire and cable community. Being part of this celebration reinforced our appreciation for the industry networks and long-standing partnerships that continue to drive innovation and commercial excellence across international markets.
